Our History: Stephenson and Warner, Inc. tailors its services to meet the unique demands of each client. The firm began in 1978 when Stanley E. Stephenson, CPA (deceased) and Larry F. Warner, CPA joined together to form the professional corporation. The firm has grown from a small building on Third Street with a staff of six, to a large building on Peck Boulevard with a staff of twelve, including three additional CPAs. The number of shareholders in the firm has also grown as Stephenson and Warner, Inc. welcomed Douglas C. Jacobs, CPA and Larry F. Warner, Jr., CPA as minority shareholders in 1996.
Meeting Every Client's Needs: Although the firm has doubled it's size and clientele over the years, Stephenson and Warner, Inc. remains committed to the goal of meeting every client's needs; no matter how large the need or how small the client. The firm has accomplished this goal year after year, largely due to the expert leadership of Larry F. Warner and a highly competent staff.
Quality and Expertise: As a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, (AICPA), Stephenson and Warner, Inc. must adhere to strict rules and standards regarding Accounting, Auditing, Tax and Management Advisory Services. The AICPA standard that the firm deems to be most beneficial to its clients is quality control. The firm's system of quality control ensures that their end product, whether a individual income tax return or an audited financial statement, has been prepared and reviewed to meet the stringent standards set by the AICPA. Continuing Professional Education enables the firm to maintain a high degree of quality control. Each professional staff member receives a minimum of 40 hours a year in continuing education regarding various accounting and tax subjects. Stephenson and Warner, Inc.'s quality control system is reviewed by an independent accounting firm every three years to assure its clients and the public that they are complying with AICPA standards. The firm can proudly state that it has passed all of its peer reviews.
